River Drives in the Adirondacks

2/3/2018  2 pm to 3:30 pm

Retired Finch Pruyn & Co. forester Dick Nason will present a talk on the history of river drives in the Adirondacks, the annual endeavor of transporting logs from the forest to the mills during the spring high water.  Mr. Nason will illustrate his talk with historical imagery he has collected over the years.

The program is presented in conjunction with the Chapman Exhibit "A History of Water."  The project is supported by a grant from the Touba Family Foundation.
