Cemetery Tour

9/28/2019  10 am start to 1 pm

The 19th annual Cemetery Tour, a collaboration between the Chapman Museum and the Glens Falls Community Theatre, will be presented in Glens Falls Cemetery on Bay Street.

In this unique event, members of the public are invited to travel through the cemetery and see life stories performed by local actors.   This year’s roster features: Dr. Gordon Cadwell Peck, a dentist and magician; Louis H. Aldrich, lawyer and inventor of a bicycle powered paddleboat and his wife Sarah; Glens Falls Police Chief George Culver and his wife Mary; and Jonas Ordway, lumberman and benefactor.  Also included are: George Mead, baseball player turned insurance company executive; English immigrant Elizabeth Cowlbeck; and DeForest West, a performer known as the “Great Male Soprano.”

Space is still available in walking tours scheduled at 11 am, 11:30 am, 12 noon, and 12:30 pm.

The Golf cart tours are Full.

The cost is $15/person, $8/students and a $2 discount for museum members.
