Timothy Weidner: From the Mountains to the Sea: S. R. Stoddard's Hudson River Photos
Chapman Museum. Free.
Tim will share Stoddard images from Lake Tear of the Clouds in the Adirondack High Peaks to New York Harbor, taken during the 1870s and 1880s.
Note: Copies of "Water & Light: S.R. Stoddard's Lake George" will be available to purchase at a 30% discount, and Joe Cutshall-King, the author, will be on hand to sign them.. He also will sign copies of his new book, "Over My Shoulder 2."
This is one of a series of programs that supports the exhibitions, Water/Ways at the Chapman Museum, and Can We Save the Queen? in the Folklife Gallery, both on view Nov. 23, 2019 to Jan. 5, 2020.
Water/Ways is a Museum on Main Street exhibition organized by the Smithsonian Institution. The New York tour of Water/Ways is made possible by the Museum Association of New York. Can We Save the Queen? is an original exhibition produced by the Folklife Center with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts-Folk Arts Program supported by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature.
